Artist's Statement: Sculpture

In my bronze sculptures I am interested in duality, contrast and balance. The dynamics of interchangeable objects, the transformation from lightness to heaviness, and the interplay between inside and outside, are the most important aspects of my work.
I am fascinated by the subtle elegance and harmony that bronze imparts to the form and structure of the pieces. The incorporation of glass in some of my sculptures creates an element of the unexpected and unpredictable.
Although the lost wax process is long and labor intensive, my reward comes from knowing that the final product bears my own unique handprint.
